How does the land determine human movement, settlement and land management practices?

This discussion based, active learning program explores three groups that occupied the landscape surrounding Lanyon Homestead: Aboriginal people, European settlers and convicts. Using analytical techniques, students compare three different human communities and their unique interactions with the landscape.

Students will observe and reflect how humans have impacted the environment by exploring land use and management in the past and present. They will consider the significance of resources and possible land management practices to our future.
