10.15am, 11am, 11.45am and 12.30pm

We will bring the Mugga Mugga precinct to life, with this 30 minute tour of the landscape, learning about early Canberran settlement.

Step into the story at Mugga Mugga and discover the fascinating stories of early life in the Canberra region.

Tours run first weekend of every month (on both Saturday and Sunday) at 10.15am, 11am, 11.45am and 12.30pm. We strongly encourage a cashless transaction, so please book ahead to help everyone remain COVID-safe.

Enjoy a special tour of the land and paddocks around the cottage.* Learn about the development of the area from a tiny shepherds hut to happy family home, and see parts of the landscape rarely seen by visitors. This fascinating and engaging walk around the beautiful pastoral landscape will take you beyond the home and into the all-encompassing views.

Wrap up warm and wear comfortable shoes!

*Due to COVID restrictions Mugga Mugga cottage is closed to visitors, but anyone taking the walk will receive a free ticket for a future cottage tour. Book your walk via Eventbrite or pay via EFTPOS on the day.

You can also take a virtual tour of the main house using our digital interpretation content on an iPad, either before or after your tour.

Due to social distancing requirements, we are unable to open the cottage for guided tours at the moment. As part of this outdoor tour, we will give every tour participant a free pass to use within 12 months, for a guided house tour once restrictions are lifted.

ACT Historic Places acknowledges that Mugga Mugga sits on land nurtured and managed for millennia by the Ngunnawal people. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
