Discover the fascinating stories and hidden corners of Lanyon Homestead on this exclusive after-hours tour led by renowned storyteller Tim the Yowie Man.

Under Tim’s expert guidance, explore areas of the property rarely accessible to the public and uncover the remarkable history of the people who lived and worked here over the past 150 years. Along the way, you'll visit a secluded convict-built stone hut on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, the iconic Lanyon windmill, and heritage-listed scar trees, while enjoying Tim’s trademark humour and gift for bringing local history to life.

The evening concludes with a candlelit supper in the historic barracks building, featuring traditional-style pumpkin soup served with fresh bread.

Important information:

  • The tour includes a 2-3 kilometre walk through paddocks with uneven terrain and sections of low lighting. A reasonable level of fitness is required.

  • Please wear long pants, enclosed walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

  • Bring your own water bottle and torch.

  • The program will proceed in light rain but may be postponed in the event of heavy rain or extreme weather conditions.
