Join COG (Canberra Ornithological Group) and a Lanyon guide as we hopefully catch a glimpse of the migrating Honeyeater.
Join experienced and fledgling birdwatchers to explore a diverse landscape – from the river corridor, through box woodland and established plantings as you see and hear the bird species that call them home. The walk will include parts of the historic precinct not usually accessible to the public and give a unique glimpse into the property’s early colonial history.
Afterwards, decamp to the Barracks Espresso Bar and Eating House for brunch, the bird count and views of the Murrumbidgee River.
The walk will take you through paddocks and sometimes rough terrain for 3 hours. Please wear long pants, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, hat and bring drinking water. Also bring your binoculars if you have some!
